Head of Business Development - Business Unit Cereals (m/w/d)

For KWS Lochow GmbH we are looking for an ambitious and visionary leader to become our new Head of Business Development for the Cereals Business Unit (m/f/d). In this exciting position, you will manage all business development activities of the Business Unit Cereals and thus play a highly influential role in defining the strategic direction of the business unit. 

Furthermore, you will also be responsible for the strategic planning process for the Cereals Business Unit - working closely with the Business Unit leadership and Global Strategy. Another exciting task is to identify opportunities for further development of the business and to consistently lead and support corresponding projects.

This role is a full-time and permanent position and is based either in our Headquarters in Einbeck, in our site in Bergen in Germany or in other KWS relevant locations.  

Your Tasks - Challenge meets Responsibility:

• Steering the strategic planning process for the Cereals Business Unit, including strategy derivation, formulation, communication, monitoring and reporting.
• Sourcing, managing, utilizing and providing relevant market, industry, legal and business data
• Identify and evaluate opportunities for new business and for development of existing business, including financial modeling and scenario analysis
• Initiate, lead and manage relevant projects
• Working closely with relevant stakeholders within the Cereals BU and participating in relevant committees, e.g. the Business Unit Cereals Management Committee
• Close cooperation with relevant stakeholders from other BUs, e.g. representatives of Business Development, and with KWS Group functions, e.g. Group Strategy, Global Product Development, Global R&D, Global Legal & IP
• Proactive contribution to relevant global projects and committees on behalf of the Cereals Business Unit e.g. M&A activities, strategy projects, cooperations, sustainability,Intellectual Property
• Regular reporting on relevant topics and projects in various management circles
  Exchange with relevant stakeholders on site to enable effective exchange on topics and projects and to drive them forward

Your Profile - Competence meets Personality:

• Completed studies in the fields of agriculture, business, economics and/or another relevant subject
• Experience in the seed industry is an advantage
• Excellent project management skills
• A sound understanding of finance and controlling
• Entrepreneurial mindset

• Quick comprehension of complexity
• Global networking affinity and ability to work effectively across international teams
• Intercultural competence paired with very good communication skills
• Excellent command of English (both written and spoken); German or other language skills are desirable
