Your responsibilities:

The Data Governance & Architecture Lead (all gender) will create frameworks for generated and acquired data and works together with different stakeholders in R&D and Business Units to implement policies, standards and best practices and therefore provide KWS the basis for the application of FAIR (Findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable) principles.

You will define a strategy for metadata management, data lineage tracking and data stewardship. The Data Governance & Achitecture Lead (all gender) will also support innovative data discovery projects that apply state of art Artificial Intelligence techniques. You will also be part of the digital and technology development team leadership and interact with Global Technology Information, Compliance and Quality teams.

This exciting position is unlimited with a full-time contract at KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA in Einbeck (Lower Saxony). After an onboarding phase, we can also coordinate on remote work within Germany.

Your new challenge:

• Establish, define and lead a global data governance program to provide operating framework to all KWS digital domains. 
• Create and maintain data stewardship with identification of data owners, domains and partners and enabling them to take data ownership 
• Foster development of sustainable platforms defining standards, policies and procedures to assure data connectivity and application of FAIR principles 
• Enable data discovery and connectivity by establishing a metadata management, cataloging and working on data graphs.
• Create operating model to classify R&D data based on its value and criticality to the organization and work collaboratively with Global IT, compliance and quality teams to align on data requirements. 
• Set standards for digital products to facilitate development, license grant and maintenance.

Your profile:

• You have a university degree or equivalent certification in computer science, data science or a related field 
• You have hands-on professional experience with data governance and data management. 
• You are a change management expert.ou are willing to build up the area of data governance and are happy that not everything is firmly defined in standards and processes yet.
• You have project management skills and an ability to drive topics.
• You possess strong analytical and communication skills.  
• Furthermore, you are able to communicate on a business fluent level with your English-speaking stakeholders. German language skills are a plus.
